Swiss Alp Dance hall
The
original Swiss Alp Dance Hall building was built in the
early 1900’s. The dancehall was a popular meeting place
and entertainment venue through much of the 20th
century. Many long-standing relationships began at the
hall. It is common for visitors to identify the exact
spot where they met while fond memories overflow.
The dancehall
remains very much as it was back in the 1950s. The
Titejen family ran the dancehall for over 40 years. Many
musicians played in the dancehall, including B. J.
Thomas, The Drifters, The Triumphs, The Barons, The
Moods, The Soul Searchers, Crystal Blue, and Sunny and
the Sun-Liners, along with many local bands. The current
owners, Kevin and Donna Ustynik, purchased the property
from the Tietjen estate in the fall of 2005.
The hall
provides a relaxing view of the open and rolling hills.
The Ustyniks hope that visitors find the hall to be
inviting and relaxing. There is always music and space
to dance, live music will be provided as often as
possible. The Biergarten/dancehall serves limited menu
items, along with ice cold beer, wine, soft drinks,
coffee, and tea.
